S&L U14s made the relatively short trip to Wellingborough on Sunday to play against a team they've come up against numerous times over the past 5-6 years. The sides have always been evenly matched so a good game was expected. The ground was pretty heavy going and the ball was slippery, but despite that both sides tried to play some good rugby.
An even first half ended 2 tries each with our tries coming from Ben Nicholas and Cameron Trotter.
S&L unfortunately started the second half a bit slowly and fell a couple of tries behind, but they came back well to stem the tide with a score from Sol McGrady. Time just ran out for the lads to put a further dent in the scoreline and the game ended 25-15.
From January the boys move to 15-a-side so a few new players would be very welcomed. Training is 6-7.30pm every Wednesday starting 5th January and games are Sunday mornings. No experience needed, just enthusiasm!
