It is with the deepest regret and heart felt sadness that I must inform you of the passing of Dave Murdoch. A dedicated long term member of the club, Dave sadly passed following a short illness.
Dave belonged to a unique group to which I also belong; alongside many of our age group friends, in which we have been described as “old school”. This term does not mean old fashioned in any sense of the word but, when used to describe a person, it means that person believes in traditional values and behaviours and lives by those traits but with that subtle difference in that they do it with pride. Having spoken to Dave just before this pandemic enveloped us all, I know Dave was very proud of his links to his club, proud of the lifelong friends he had made at the club and extremely proud of his family. I would like to reciprocate that and say Dave, we are proud of you and the club was always a better place with you in it. Rest in peace our “old school” friend.
There will be many a glass raised today.
