On the 27th August, Club Safeguarding Officer Tom Manson is taking on the challenge to cycle 180km to raise funds for Club Improvements. He will be departing from our home at Occupation Road and heading to the East Coast where he will complete his cycle at Cromer Pier.

Tom has been training for this cycle with coaching from one of our Ex players and National League Referee, Andy Canning, who will be joining him on this incredible journey. Andy Said, “Tom has been doing really well in training and taking the challenge in his stride as we increase our mileage week on week”.

Tom would like to raise money to help improve the facilities in the Club House which, during this very difficult time and with no income coming into the club, will be a massive help to continue to offer our members the best and most accessible facilities.

Tom said, “In the last 18 months our sponsors, the committee and members have done an amazing job to modernise our social area, I want to contribute to further improvements and provide easier access to the less mobile members of our local Community. “I’m really looking forward to attacking this head on and hope that this is the first of many initiatives to help us raise funds.”

Our Chairman added “Tom has been a Club Member for many years but took on the role of Safeguarding Officer to volunteer his time for the last 2 seasons. He has done fantastic work behind the scenes to keep our club safe for all of our Members. That is no easy task, especially in todays climate, and he is now taking on the incredible cycling challenge in order to give back to the Club again”.

Please take a look at Tom’s Just Giving Page (Target £1000) and if you can, donate to his challenge to help encourage him through his training and support him during his 180km cycle. If you would like to donate but don't want to use Just Giving, please contact Tom at: tomsm.b66@gmail.com

We will keep you updated throughout the next 4 weeks of his training so you can follow along with his progress. Best of Luck Tom.
