Hi Everybody
Welcome back to what has already been a great start to the season with training going well and the first pre-season fixture in the bag.
Last Saturday saw a fantastic double header; The Jenkinson/Crooks Memorial Trophy and the club being recognised at the “valued volunteer” National Awards. The memorial game epitomises the award with S&L volunteers once again delivering what has been described as nothing less than a fantastic day. I thank all those that made the day possible, and it was a pleasure and an honour to pick up the National “valued volunteer” award from the President of the RFU on behalf of the club. As I have stated many times, no one person makes a club it is the efforts of many. One Club-Our Club.

With pre-season going well please remember to look at our social media for the schedule as we have several fixtures including games under lights. The playing management team led by Head Coach Tom Cleary and new Club Captain Dev Riley are quite rightly excited about the start to the season as preparations peak to the first league game on the 02 September 2023.
World Cup fever will soon be amongst us. The Club offers the prime tv package covering all the home nations world cup warm up games. Again, please see our schedule. Get off the couch, do your 5K exercise (walk to the club!) and then get down to Occupation Road to watch some great rugby from the sideline and the World Cup from the bar with family and friends.
The club continues to explore the possibility of structural improvements to widen our community engagement, focusing on female participation and disabled person’s access. Watch this space over the next 12 months.
It’s great to be back, see you soon.
Your Chairman
Adey Mitchell
