The 1stXV made it 10 from 10 with a superb 31-0 victory over 3rd place St Neots.
The opening exchanges suggested it would be a close encounter, with both teams trading blows back and forth.
Jay Manson opened the scoring with a successful penalty from the oppositions 10 meter line.
S&L started to take control of the game, marching up the field, phase after phase with Josh Ruddick leading the charge. Eventually S&L were awarded a scrum deep inside st Neots 22.
The blackwave dominated the scrum, which allowed Louis Trimble to dot down for his first score of the game. Manson slotting the conversion for a 10 point cushion.
St Neots gave up possession of the ball after a scrappy lineout and the pill found its way into the hands of Jay Manson. He put boot to ball and pulled off a 50-22, ensuring S&L had the throw in at the lineout.
The black wave capitalised on the opportunity after securing the ball from the lineout as Lee Ball came crashing round the corner to stretch over for the second try of the match. Manson nailing the conversion to keep his 100% kicking record for the day.
The half ended with S&L leading 17-0.
The blackwave's defensive effort at the start of the second half was second to none, triggered off by a bone crunching hit by winger Dale Borthwick.
Intense pressure from both sides, on and off the ball, eventually lead to S&L being awarded a scrum just 6 meters from the St Neots goal line.
Louis Trimble picked and went blind and with a grubber kick,neatly collected by full back Carl Lofty, who found his way over the whitewash for the third score of the afternoon.
Manson added the extras as his master class with the boot continued.
Both sides were soon down to 14 men after handbags led to Lee Bell and the St Neots fly half being sent to cool off for ten minutes.
The scrum continued to dominate even with a man less, the front row of Ellis brown, Dan Martin and Ellis Bowman fronting up against a heavier pack.
The blackwave were still on the hunt for the bonus point try, pinging St Neots back in their 22. Everything that was thrown at the boys, no one took a backwards step and eventually this paid off. After a two man tackle by Tansley Naylor and Ellis brown, Louis Trimble pounced on the ball, sweeping it up and racing across for his 2nd try. Manson completing his player of the match performance with the conversion.
The final score - 31-0. A result which speaks volumes. The effort in training is being shown each and every Saturday. An incredible performance all round.
The 1stXV have a week break before travelling to Dunstable for round 11.
