It was a fantastic morning at home as our Under 7s welcomed Wellingborough for their second encounter of the season. The visitors arrived with a well-structured defense, but S&L showed great character to adapt as the morning progressed.
After a few early scores from the opposition, the S&L youngsters found their rhythm, crossing the line for several excellent individual tries that lifted the spirits of the entire squad. The contest remained evenly matched throughout, showcasing the rapid improvement this group has made since their last meeting.
A special mention goes to Archie, who provided a highlight reel of individual brilliance to keep the team moving forward.

Despite the biting cold and persistent rain, the Under 9s displayed incredible heart in a double-header against Wellingborough. The first match was a high-scoring thriller, with S&L edging out the visitors thanks to some clinical finishing and organized defensive sets.
The second game proved more difficult as the conditions worsened, but the teamwork remained top-notch. It was particularly heartening to see George return to the pitch after a spell out with injury, making an immediate impact. Martha earned Player of the Match honors for her tireless work rate and commitment in the rucks.

The Under 11s produced a masterclass in collective effort away at Wellingborough. In freezing, drizzly conditions, the team secured three wins from three with a performance defined by structured attacking play and dominant rucking.
The second game was the standout performance of the day, where the link play between the backs and forwards allowed S&L to exploit space out wide repeatedly. Throughout the morning, the support play was exceptional, ensuring that the ball was kept alive even when under pressure from a disciplined Wellingborough defense.

The Under 13s overcame a disruptive morning to post a very professional shutout victory. From the first whistle, the boys played with high "go-forward" energy, personified by Patrick, who opened the scoring with a sensational solo effort.
With several players stepping into unfamiliar positions, the squad’s versatility was tested and proven. The defensive line remained unbroken, and the attacking pressure was relentless, ensuring a well-deserved victory.
