S&L U10s Show Great Fight in Highly Competitive Match
The U10s delivered a fantastic, high-intensity performance in a match that was a brilliant showcase of attacking rugby, resulting in a well-earned 12-12 draw against Oadby Wyggestonian U10s. The team showed excellent resilience, fighting back multiple times to secure the parity they deserved.
S&L started with immediate attacking intent. Kai opened the scoring swiftly, and Finn followed up quickly to give the side early momentum. While Oadby rallied, Alex showed his lethal finishing with two excellent tries, ensuring S&L stayed ahead at 4-2.
A dominant spell followed, driven by the sheer determination of Jensen, who powered over for two consecutive tries, showcasing his trademark strength and pushing the lead to 6-2. Uuri then added another well-taken try to extend the margin to 7-3.
The middle stages saw Oadby mount a serious comeback, levelling the scores at 7-7. However, the S&L side responded brilliantly under pressure. Willow burst through for a crucial try to regain the lead, and despite Oadby edging ahead late in the second half, the S&L fighting spirit never faded. Albie drove over to level things at 9-9, and Alex completed a spectacular hat-trick to make it 10-10, demonstrating the team's ability to answer fire with fire.
In the thrilling final moments, and with Oadby narrowly ahead, Jensen stepped up once more. Finishing the match just as powerfully as he started it, he secured his third try, levelling the score at 12-12 and sealing a memorable draw.
Strong, confident runs from Alex, Finn, Willow, and Jensen consistently put S&L on the front foot throughout the contest.
Jensen was outstanding, scoring three tries and leading the charge with powerful carries that consistently broke the line. His ability to turn defence into attack earned him a richly deserved Player of the Match award.
This was a brilliant effort, showing the grit and potential of the S&L U10s. The focus now turns to building on this positive performance in training, particularly in securing loose ball and defensive organisation, ensuring the team continues to grow every week.
Well played, U10s!

A Game of Two Halves!
The description "a game of two halves" was certainly true for the U12s! S&L were slow out of the blocks in the first period, allowing Oadby to score a couple of quick tries. After a key intervention from Captain JJ, who rallied the team, S&L got their first score on the board. However, Oadby finished the half strongly, leading at the break.
The second half was a completely different story! The S&L team returned to the pitch with renewed strength and belief. They scored first and started dominating the ball, with their structured 'pod system' proving highly effective. The pace and intensity S&L brought to the second half was too much for Oadby to handle, leading to a phenomenal run of points that brought S&L level.
A huge shout-out for a brilliant individual and team scoring effort:
Braelyn (5 tries) - An outstanding five-try haul!
JJ (1 try) - Captain leading by example.
Harley (1 try)
Congratulations to Braelyn for a sensational performance, netting five tries and earning the Player of the Match award!
Fantastic team effort to battle back and secure the draw!

They exploded out of the blocks, scoring in the opening minute to signal their intent. Building quickly on this strong start, the U13s established control and played a commanding brand of rugby, extending their lead to 5-1.

The second half was a true test of the team's mental strength. Bletchley started strongly and levelled the score early on. However, with the game finely poised, S&L turned the screw in the final 10 minutes.
The team's determination shone through, sparked by powerful and decisive runs from Jayden and Patrik. This renewed energy was rewarded immediately, as S&L racked up three quick tries to secure the 9-5 winning margin and a well-deserved victory.
