U9s Battle Hard in Tough Match Against Rushden & Higham

The Under 9s put in an excellent team effort, losing 40-20 to Rushden & Higham in a physically demanding game.

The 6 S&L players did really well against a team of 7, rotating from Rushden's squad of 12. S&L had a slow start, but their confidence grew immensely in the second half as they started to put their training into practice.

There was good ball-carrying in the tight from George, Keaton, and Martha, while Henry, Bobby, and Jack showed good running in space.

Try Scorers:

Jack (2 tries)

Bobby (1 try)

Keaton (1 try)

A huge well done to all six players for battling so hard against tough odds!

Strong Start for U10s as They Conquer Rushden & Higham

The Under 10s kicked off their season in style with a superb 15-10 win away at Rushden & Higham!

This was the first game introducing rucking and scrummaging, and the team showed they’ve been listening at training by absolutely dominating these areas of the game. Despite a few issues around side entry at the ruck, the team stuck to their game plan and showed their strength when executing the basics correctly.

The opposition coach was so impressed with our rucking that he made a point of mentioning it! That is a huge credit to the players and coaches.

In a fantastic debut for the club, Amelia was deservedly named Player of the Match! What a start to the season!

U12s Dominate Rushden & Higham with Rucking Masterclass

The Under 12s delivered a magnificent performance on the road against Rushden and Higham, securing an emphatic 18-4 victory!

Our key focus for the day was rucking, and the team executed it brilliantly, winning all but one ruck to ensure we had a mountain of possession. This dominance with the ball was perfectly utilised to secure the tries. The defence was just as impressive, with big hits being put in by every player throughout the game.

With eight different try-scorers on the day, it was a fantastic all-round team effort. The biggest stand-out, however, was Franklin, who not only captained the side but was also named Player of the Match for his strong, driving runs and relentless pressure that constantly put the opposition on the back foot.

Well done to the entire squad for playing with your heart on your sleeve!
