Under 7s: All Smiles and Skill Development!
The Under 7s had a brilliant morning of tag rugby against ONS U7s. Across their two games (which they drew 17-17), the players utilised all their learnt skills to support teammates, grab opposition tags, and score tries! The focus of the day was on fun and enjoyment, and it was a huge success—every player left with a try, a tag to their name, and a smile on their face.
A massive well done to the whole squad, who were collectively awarded both Try Scorer and Player of the Match! You are all rugby stars!
Under 9s: Mighty Fight Against Numbers
Despite missing a couple of regulars due to illness, our Under 9s put up a mighty fight against a large squad from Old Northamptonians (ONS). With only six S&L players taking on eighteen from ONS, the team showed tremendous tenacity!
The match was split into three periods, with S&L winning the middle section. In the end, ONS just pipped the final score, taking it 50-45. It was a very strong performance from the whole team, with Keaton, George, Ecaterina, and Martha all executing the basics well and making big carries to gain field position. A big shout-out goes to Bobby for scoring his first try of the season!
Player of the Week was awarded to Jack for his powerful running through the tackle, which led to a remarkable eight tries! Well done to all the U9s!
Under 10s: Excellent Defensive Effort Against Large Squad
The Under 10s faced a demanding morning against ONS, taking on three different "fresh legged" teams due to the opposition's larger numbers. Despite the challenge, the team showed great effort. While they dropped the first game (3-12) and narrowly lost the third (5-6), they managed an excellent 8-8 draw in the second game!
The team put in good defensive work and showed excellent rucking and many strong runs.

Player of the Match: Kai.
The area of focus for training will be on ball security, presentation in the ruck, and support in attack.
Under 11s: Tough Battle Against Well-Drilled ONS
The Under 11s faced a tough fixture against a well-drilled Old Northamptonians side. Despite the final score of 3 games to 0, the S&L team stuck at it and battled well right up until the final whistle. The coaches noted good displays of rucking and tackling throughout the match. Great resilience, team!
Under 13s: Huge Improvement Secures Dominant Victory
The Under 13s travelled to Kettering and delivered a superb performance, securing a dominant 14-1 win! The team started the game really well, showing a huge improvement from their previous couple of weeks. It was a great day of rugby for the squad.
The opposition acknowledged the standout talent on the S&L side by selecting their own Man of the Match: Jaq. Well played to the entire U13 squad!
Under 15s: Clinical Display Delivers Big Win
The Under 15s put in a commanding performance against Leighton Buzzard, dominating the match from the first whistle to the last to secure an emphatic 42-7 victory. The team showed significant improvement and clinical precision, converting their opportunities flawlessly. The forwards laid a superb platform, allowing the backs to create some thrilling attacking chances.
The try-scoring was spread around, with Caleb and Jack each crossing the line twice, and Owen and Toby adding a try apiece to cap off a complete team performance. A special mention goes to Harry, who was flawless from the tee, slotting all six conversions for a 100% kicking display! Leighton Buzzard managed a single converted try but struggled to break through a well-organised S&L defence.
