Under 9s

Our under 9s where away to broadstreet on Sunday, they played some great rugby in wet and muddy conditions and were unlucky not to come away with a win. Man of the match was Owen Mccann.

Under 10s

On Sunday morning our under 10s travelled to broad street rugby club where we played 3 matches. We started quite well for a change but unfortunately we lost due to some poor tackling. On a posotive note we finally started to ruck which has been a big learning curve for our team this season so far. In the second game we played some of our best rugby but narrowly lost. Players of the week were Josh and Lewis .

Under 11s

After a good start to the season, the U11s travelled to Broadstreet high in confidence and hopeful of another strong performance. Unfortunately, the opposition had other ideas. A very well drilled Broadstreet team took advantage of missed tackles and poor defending from S&L, convincingly winning both matches on the day.

It was a tough day out for the travellers. Perhaps one to put behind them as they move onwards to the next challenge in two weeks time at Oakham.

Under 12s

The U12s travelled to a new opponent today as they played Broadstreet (Coventry). The boys weren't as lucky as some of the other teams and instead of playing on the very nice and well manicured pitches by the clubhouse they were sent to the slightly boggier set of pitches over the back!

After last weeks tough outing there were a few nerves amongst the parents and coaches, but we needn't had worried! In some very tough conditions the boys stuck to their task very well and drew the first game 1-1. Both sides were strong in defence and trying to ignore the mud and looking to move the ball.

The second game was another close game but a couple of knocks and a few tired legs allowed the Broadstreet backline in for a couple of slightly soft scores and we lost 3-2.

A huge improvement on last week and a great effort all round!

Under 16s

The u16’s welcomed Brackley RFC to Occupation road on Sunday in a round 2 East Midlands Cup match.

Brackley were a team we have never come up against so we weren’t to sure of what to expect. In the first 15mins Brackley proved to be very hard to break down with a very well drilled defensive structure. Around the 20 minute mark Brackley countered with a well worked Try and S&L were 0-5 down going into half time.

The 2nd half seen the visitors score an early try to increase their points tally up to 0-10. However; S&L replied back with a very effective forwards move that seen new boy Taylor Campbell score his first S&L competitive try, taking the score to 5-10 with 15 minutes to go. S&L continued to work the Brackley defence and managed score another try 10 minutes out through Finley Shield. This was converted by Haydn Miller which took SnL into the lead for the first time in the match, the scores being 12-10. S&L managed to close the game out with a very important try right at the end of the game through Haydn Miller, which seen the result finish at S&L 17 Brackley 10.

A very good game and massive respect to Brackley for there defensive efforts. The U16’s now look forward to get their league campaign up and running as they welcome Bugbrooke to Occupation Road next Sunday (17th).

Coaching team applauded the teams efforts, however they can’t wait to make small improvements ready for next week!

Starting team: 1- Harry, 2- Kieran, 3-Jack S, 4-Ryan, 5-Caleb, 6 Ewan, 7-Finley, 8- Zane, 9- Aidan, 10- Kai, 11- Joel, 12- Jack T, 13- Haydn (c), 14- Shay, 15- Harrison.

Finishers- Brandon, Taylor, Alex, Reece, Josh, Anhar.
