U9s
On a wet and muddy Sunday morning we played Broad Street. The best side we have played this season. Unfortunately we came 2nd in all the games, but the lads played well in the playing conditions.
U11s
The U11s hosted Broadstreet at home this weekend. The boys got off to a great start in both matches, scoring early to put themselves ahead. A few missed tackles in open play led to some soft tries. We also struggled to deal with a strong attacking threat from Broadstreet of the back of their set plays, which eventually saw them win both matches. Player of the match, Ben Porter and a special mention to Ashton, Ben, Rocco and Ethan for taking turns to play for Broadstreet as they were short on numbers and to Rocco for scoring for them! Try scorers for S&L Ashton (2), Sam (1)

Well.... That was a muddy one!
On Sunday, the team welcomed Broadstreet Rugby Club (Coventry) and following our reverse fixture back in November, were expecting a closely fought battle. They did not disappoint! Despite conditions being very difficult, with parts of the pitch resembling something the local farmyard animals might like to roll around in, both teams tried to play attractive rugby.
The first game was very close, but Broadstreet shaded it by a couple of scores. Their big number 8 scored a couple from close range as playing into the breeze told on our lads. A special mention for Ashton Graham who scored one of the best two yard pick and go snipes from the base of the ruck I've seen all season!
The second game was much of the same, with both sides being very evenly matched. Sol McGrady and Louis Stobo led the charge for our lads with some very strong runs and all the team put a real shift in.
All in all it was a great morning of rugby against a very well coached side who clearly have the same views as ourselves on how the game should be played.
