Our very own Rhys Cook (u17) represented Midlands U18s at the weekend where they attended an England Counties U18 training camp in Warwick. There they played the South West and won 31-14.

This weekend they play the North in the final game and post match will announce an England Counties U18 squad.
The process started last year when Rhys was selected for the East Mids U17s squad and then U18s this year where they played the other Midlands counties to select an overall Midlands U18 Squad.
From East Midlands, only 2 lads made the final Midlands squad; Rhys and Harrison Abraham, who also was an S&L mini/junior player until the age of 13, he now plays for ON's.
In terms of numbers, the final Midlands squad of 23 players would have been selected from the top 250 club / school U18 players across the East Mids, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, North Midlands & Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire counties who are not part of a senior academy at a premiership club.
We are very proud of Rhys and congratulate him on how far he has come already. A huge achievement in itself and he should be very proud. It is a testament to his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best of luck for this weekend. We look forward to seeing him back in the S&L colours soon too after a great debut against Daventry just a few weeks ago.
