This Sunday, S&L U14s welcomed Northampton Old Scouts to Occupation Road for our first game against them in a very long time!
Playing down hill in the first half, the boys started strongly, storming out the traps like they had a point to prove. With some very direct running from Ben Nicholas and Jaiden Kelly, this gave the team important go forward. S&L went into the half-time break half a dozen tries to the good.
Old Scouts came back into things in the second half and a really good contest ensued. A crazy 5 mins period saw what seemed like a world record for scrums and that caused a bit of momentum to be lost. But a strong finish meant the game ended 9-2 to S&L. Another improvement from previous week's which is great to see!
We also found out this week that three of our lads got selected for the Saints DPP programme for this season. A huge congratulations to Sol McGrady, Louis Stobo and Dylan's Chigome!
