The Stewarts & Lloyds (Corby) RFC senior squad have been hard at work during lockdown to prepare themselves for the coming season. Staying fit and active has been difficult for everyone during this time but the 45+ senior playing members have been putting in the hard yards to ensure that they hit the ground running when they are back for pre-season.
For the last 6 weeks the squad have been out running and clocking their total distances using the running app “Strava”, managing to cover a total 3,255KM so far. We are now recreating this journey in a visual map as the squad continue to put in more and more miles, representing how much distance they have covered across Europe. To date, the 3,255KM has taken them from Corby, across Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and now Romania.
With the government lifting some of its lockdown protocols this week, we should hopefully see a gradual return to club based training, with players being able to continue to prepare for the coming season through group fitness sessions at Occupation Road.
The players are putting in all the hard work where it counts and putting themselves in the best possible position they can for when the season comes around. Check back in regularly to see how the players’ journey around Europe progresses.
