S&L RFC under 8s to play in tournament on the hallowed turf of Twickenham!
Saturday 6th October sees a huge local derby being played at the home of Rugby, Northampton Saints v Leicester Tigers. The match is being played at Twickenham to raise money for the injured Saint, Rob Horne, who sadly had to retire early from rugby last year after a freak accident meant he has lost the use of his right arm.
Our Under 8s have been invited to play in a Tournament before the match and to also take part in the day's events. Our very own Owen McCann will be representing the club and taking to the field with a player, prior to kick off. At half time the Under 8s will be parading around the stadium in their kit.
A, yet to be named, Saints player will be taking to the field in our very own white and black hooped socks. Each Saints player is wearing a local rugby clubs socks and we will find out who is wearing ours, once they do their blind draw.
We wish our under 8s the best of luck for the tournament and we will be looking out for them as they parade around the pitch, making us all very proud. If your not heading to Twickenham then come and watch the match, Live in the clubhouse!
We have a coach taking the under 8s, their parents and coaches to the stadium. If your on the coach, make sure your at the club no later that 7:30am. The tournament kicks off at 11am and the Derby is at 3pm.
