Saturday 2nd September the U13s joined the Northampton Saints Cup Tournament for the first games of the the new season.
The first game pitted the boys vs Men’s Own winning the game 2-1 with some great tackling and intensity. The hard work the boys had put in the summer on their fitness and game skills were paying off.
The next game was vs Old Scouts. This was always going to be a difficult game with the opponents convincingly winning 5-0.
The next pool game vs ONs which ended the same with the opposition winning 4-0.
The boys then advanced to the 3rd place pool kicking off their first game beating Bugbrooke 4-2. Again showing the same intensity of the first game.
The final game was vs Wellingborough, a game they should have won going 1-0 up straight away but the boys lost their way with a final score of 3-1 to the 'boro. The Wellingborough coach was heard to say S&L should have won that but threw it away.
A great tournament for the boys and a good experience.
They then watched the Saints v Babas and had the half time pitch walk.
Great day for them all.
