After the Beast from East hit midweek, everyone was wondering what to expect on Sunday. Playing away to a Casuals side that we had only played once before, but on the back of two excellent performances, the S&L boys should have been full of confidence.
Unfortunately, the start of the game came when most seemed to still be in the changing rooms as Casuals scored straight from the kick off... 7-0.
In the first half we played into the wind. It was scrappy and something was just not quite clicking. However the team continued to plug away and started to see some reward. Following a good break down the wing by Dylan, Cameron sniped round the edge of the ruck for a score. 7-5.
Casuals scored again and as the half was coming to an end, some good play by the team lead to a hard fought drive from Jaiden and another try. 14-10 at half-time to Casuals.
A stern team talk brought some renewed vigour from the team which resulted in Thomas scoring in the corner (14-15 to S&L). Casuals came back hard with two uncovered scores themselves, leaving the S&L lads 24-15 down with 15 minutes to go.
This brought the team to life and two well worked scores, both converted by Grayson, from Rhys and Dylan (last play of the game) saw the boys come out on top 29-24 and make it three wins in a row.
