It is my unfortunate duty as Chairman of S&L (Corby) RFC to inform you that for the second time in our 85 year history, we must close our doors for the foreseeable future in accordance with National and Local Authority demand due to the bug. I refuse to use the scientific name for the cause of the pandemic because if you give something a name you give it a sense of credibility and I will be damned if I give anything or anybody an ounce of credibility when they/it are the cause of such destruction and devastation.

This past 6 months the club has endured many hardships especially as a physical contact sport trying to return to normality. I must thank all our members, players, coaches, volunteers and staff for their unrelenting support in ensuring the preservation of our club. One Club - Our Club has never been more prevalent.

Despite the recent dark days my garden has never looked better, many of my walls have a fresh coat of paint and the Club too has benefited from our Army of volunteers carrying out “lockdown maintenance” as and when the restrictions allowed and I thank you all.

This is a tough time for many individuals and families, please do not suffer alone, reach out and the club will do its utmost to help. Look after each other, stay safe and we will see you soon.

Adey Mitchell

Chairman
