Spalding - 26 vs 25 - S&L

The u14s ran agonizingly close to recording an away win in their first fixture of the season.  Despite scoring 5 tries to 4 they were unable to capitalise on the new laws this season where conversion kicks are included in the game.  Centre Ethan Baker ran in all 5 of S&L's tries with 3 superb outside breaks to beat the covering defence and was on hand to finish off a tap penalty from close range and a 60 metre break from centre partner Morgan Graham.  Notable mentions also for the workrate of flanker Chris Drew and new winger Archie Barry who had an impressive debut!  Head Coach Mark Williams was happy with the result overall but will be looking for a little more cohesion in defence and attack in the coming games.
