Without our volunteers the club would not be able to function. There are so many roles behind the scenes which most people are not aware of, but they are vital to keep the club running. In this series we want to shine the spotlight on our volunteers.

This week we are highlighting the work of our team Physio, Craig Fleming.

Craig has been with us for the past 2 years and has played a vital role in keeping our players injury free, aiding in their recovery off the pitch and keeping the lads in the game.

We have asked some club members to give us their thoughts on Craig’s role at the club and how it has impacted them.

Tom Cleary (Club Head Coach)

Craig hasn’t just been the team Physio, he has been an integral part of this squad and a huge reason behind the teams success this season.

His level of commitment has allowed Craig to build fantastic relationships with the players, ensuring they are looked after and at times has been the glue holding players and even myself together.

His honesty and passion is there for all to see and he is a huge asset to our club. I am so thankful for everything that he does as it takes a lot of pressure off me knowing the level of care that all the players are receiving weekly. We have sustained such a high level of play this season and a big contributing factor is everything that Craig does!!

Louis Trimble (1stXV Vice Captain)

Criag has been a real asset to our team since he has been with us over the past years. It’s fair to say I am probably one of his best customers and without him I would have not been able to play in 50% of the games that I have. He’s dedication to the team is second to none

Ewan Martin (1stXV Player)

Craig’s a top bloke and has helped me a lot throughout this season, strapping my knee up before every match to make sure I can play. He cares a lot for the boys in the squad and looks after us in any way he can, taking time out of his week on a Tuesday and Thursday nights to be at the club seeing if any players need any treatment. Without his help some of us would have struggled with injuries this year. There’s has been a couple of Saturdays where he hasn’t been able to make the match, so he’s had me and a few of the other lads at his house, standing on his dining room table first thing in the morning getting us all taped up to ensure that we can still play that match.
