S&L U13s vs Bourne away
10 to S&L
1 to Bourne
Great start to the season a strong performance from all players,
The forwards dominated the scrums wining all but one and lead the game with great pod work, the support play from all was superb.
We filled the field in defence not letting bourne make any meters & keeping them under a lot of pressure.
Two debuts today's Natan and Bailey both played amazing with Natan so close to getting his first try and Bailey who took MOTM with some good runs and scores and all round game play.
JJ is now the captain for the start of the season and lead by example with great game play management,
Jack was the parents player with some individual brilliance with his first game at 10, helping run the back line and some solo efforts scoring 3 tries,

S&L U14/15s 0 vs ONS 50
A tough start to the season for the U14s/15s.
With a disrupted preseason due to the heat and our opponents cancelling last week, S&L came into the match a little undercooked and strugglend against a good ONS team.
The boys kept playing to the end though and showed heart in the second half to continue to compete with ONS but ultimatley they were a bit too much for us on the day.
Plenty of work ons to take to training this week and some fresh faces joining the team too.
Wellingborough 38–17 S&L RFC U16s
A tough one for the U16s today in a 70-minute fixture.
S&L went into half-time 10–7 ahead after a really strong first half where we were the better team and looked in control. Unfortunately, we took our foot off the gas after the break and Wellingborough came back strongly to take the game.
It’s fair to say we lost the game rather than Wellingborough won it. We were the better side in the first half, but we didn’t maintain that intensity and allowed the momentum to shift.
There were tries for Andy, Shay and Jason, with Jack adding a conversion.
Opposition Man of the Match: Jack
A great gesture from Wellingborough, recognising Jack’s performance.
Coaches’ Player: Jason
Well deserved after a strong performance.
The result is disappointing, but the bigger picture is really positive. This team has come on leaps and bounds over the last two seasons and is now playing at a level where we are competing with teams from higher leagues. That progress is a credit to the players and the work they have put in.
Today showed that we can compete — now it’s about putting that performance together for the full 70 minutes.
Plenty to build on.
